# OceanLED Unveils Revolutionary Hybrid Upgrade Kits at METSTRADE 2025

November 2025 - OceanLED is excited to announce the launch of two groundbreaking products, the F-Series to Hybrid E8 Upgrade Kit and the L-Series to Hybrid E9 Upgrade Kit. Making their official debut at Metstrade 2025, these new upgrade solutions mark a major leap forward in superyacht refit efficiency, sustainability, and lighting performance.

Smarter, Cleaner, and More Sustainable Refits

For the first time, superyachts fitted with existing OceanLED F-Series or L-Series underwater lights can upgrade to our latest Hybrid Explore Series, without replacing driver cabinets, cabling, or cofferdams.

This means owners, captains, yards, and crews can achieve next-generation lighting performance with minimal disruption, reduced costs, and dramatically shorter installation times.

“These upgrade kits represent a true breakthrough for underwater lighting in the superyacht industry,” said Giles Truscott, Group Sales Director, OceanLED. “We’re offering a smarter, cleaner, and more sustainable path to next-generation underwater lighting, without tearing apart the vessel’s existing infrastructure, while keeping costs to a significant minimum.”

Fast Installation, Maximum Impact

Both the F-Series to Hybrid E8 Upgrade Kit and L-Series to Hybrid E9 Upgrade Kit enable direct installation into the yacht’s existing cofferdams. This eliminates the need for complex and costly welding, new cable runs, or control cabinet replacements, dramatically reducing refit time and cost. In most cases, installation time can be cut by up to 50%, providing a faster turnaround for both shipyards and owners. 

Next-Generation Performance  
- Each Hybrid Upgrade Kit delivers a powerful step-up in capability:  
- Up to 13,000 fixture lumens for stunning illumination  
- Advanced underwater-specific optics for unmatched lighting effects  
- 26% efficiency gains, delivering a superior effect with reduced power draw

Both systems are based on the revolutionary Explore Series, the only underwater lighting solutions accredited by the Water Revolution Foundation for proven sustainability in superyacht applications.
