Twice a finalist for this year’s Made in the Midlands Awards, OceanLED was in the race for the 2024 Export Award and Manufacturing Innovation Award. Making it through to the finals of any awards is fantastic, but to be shortlisted for two main categories was unbelievable. Though we didn’t win (there is always next year), the night wasn’t without success. Over the past four years, the business has undergone a huge number of very specific changes. From the appointment of a new Managing Director, a new Technical Customer Service Manager, a new Procurement Manager, an expanded engineering team, a new account management team, achieving certification from the Water Revolution Foundation, and most recently the appointment of a new Marketing Manager. All these changes, as well as others, were part of a larger growth plan for the business, and becoming finalists for the first time in regional business awards, taking on the likes of Toyota and Zayndu, is an excellent barometer for the success of these changes. The other big takeaway from the night was our staff, how 12 of OceanLED’s finest represented the business in impeccable fashion and the domino effect of this fantastic experience. Awards don’t just help raise your company’s profile, they instill a mindset of achievement, nurture pride in your organisation, and offer a small business like OceanLED with limited budgets, the chance to treat their staff. The statement, “an award-winning company” definitely has a ring to it, and that is all thanks to the incredible OceanLED team. The future is looking exceptionally bright for OceanLED and our brilliant team. ![OceanLED at the Made in the Midlands Awards](https://www.oceanled.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/IMG_0692-500x375.jpg?width=500&height=375&name=IMG_0692-500x375.jpg) ![OceanLED team at Made in the Midlands Awards](https://www.oceanled.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/IMG_0696-500x667.jpg?width=500&height=667&name=IMG_0696-500x667.jpg)   Daniel Earl Copy Link ### Get the latest news Be the first to know about product launches and new content. ### Relevant articles [![Sport Colours - Camera Edition from OceanLED](https://www.oceanled.com/hubfs/Popup%20Graphiucs/Sport%20Camera%20Launch%20Popup.png) ](https://www.oceanled.com/news/the-world-first-underwater-light-with-integrated-underwater-camera) 21.08.2025 | [News](https://www.oceanled.com/news/tag/news), [Products](https://www.oceanled.com/news/tag/products) #### [The World-First Underwater Light with Integrated Underwater Camera: The Sport Colours – Camera Edition](https://www.oceanled.com/news/the-world-first-underwater-light-with-integrated-underwater-camera) [ Read more ](https://www.oceanled.com/news/the-world-first-underwater-light-with-integrated-underwater-camera) [![](https://www.oceanled.com/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/eastern_marine_logo.png) ](https://www.oceanled.com/news/oceanled-announces-new-distribution-agreement-with-eastern-marine-in-hong-kong) 21.02.2025 | [News](https://www.oceanled.com/news/tag/news) #### [OceanLED Announces New Distribution Agreement with Eastern Marine in Hong Kong - OceanLED](https://www.oceanled.com/news/oceanled-announces-new-distribution-agreement-with-eastern-marine-in-hong-kong) [ Read more ](https://www.oceanled.com/news/oceanled-announces-new-distribution-agreement-with-eastern-marine-in-hong-kong) [![](https://www.oceanled.com/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/F-Series-to-E8-Ret_light_explode.png) ](https://www.oceanled.com/news/oceanled-becomes-the-first-underwater-light-manufacturer-to-offer-upgrade-kits-for-its-legacy-superyacht-lighting-systems) 10.02.2025 | [News](https://www.oceanled.com/news/tag/news) #### [OceanLED becomes the first underwater light manufacturer to offer upgrade kits for its legacy superyacht lighting systems - OceanLED](https://www.oceanled.com/news/oceanled-becomes-the-first-underwater-light-manufacturer-to-offer-upgrade-kits-for-its-legacy-superyacht-lighting-systems) [ Read more ](https://www.oceanled.com/news/oceanled-becomes-the-first-underwater-light-manufacturer-to-offer-upgrade-kits-for-its-legacy-superyacht-lighting-systems) [![](https://www.oceanled.com/hubfs/Peter%20Heahshot%20-%20Blog%20Spec.jpg) ](https://www.oceanled.com/news/oceanled-appoints-americas-sales-manager-for-2025) 16.01.2025 | [News](https://www.oceanled.com/news/tag/news), [Uncategorized @us](https://www.oceanled.com/news/tag/uncategorized-us) #### [OceanLED appoints Americas Sales Manager for 2025 - OceanLED](https://www.oceanled.com/news/oceanled-appoints-americas-sales-manager-for-2025) [ Read more ](https://www.oceanled.com/news/oceanled-appoints-americas-sales-manager-for-2025) [![](https://www.oceanled.com/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/Yeti-Cooler-Image-with-boat-v2.png) ](https://www.oceanled.com/news/win-our-yeti-cooler) 16.10.2024 | [News](https://www.oceanled.com/news/tag/news) #### [WIN OUR YETI COOLER! - OceanLED](https://www.oceanled.com/news/win-our-yeti-cooler) [ Read more ](https://www.oceanled.com/news/win-our-yeti-cooler) ```json { "@context" : "https://schema.org", "@type" : "BlogPosting", "author" : { "@type" : "Person", "name" : "Daniel Earl", "url" : "https://www.oceanled.com/news/author/daniel-earl" }, "dateModified" : "2025-02-26T16:35:48.334Z", "datePublished" : "2024-05-01T10:51:31.000Z", "headline" : "Double Finalist in Innovation & Exports, Close!
